Dia español
Hola! Today we all had a fantastic day celebrating everything that is Spanish across the whole school.
Everybody got to taste the fabulous food organised by the teachers. This included sangria (grape fruit juice), Tiger bread, Manchego cheese, chorizo, green olives, tortilla (spanish omelette) and Sorano ham. Most agree that the olives weren’t their favourites!
Every year also got to learn how to flamenco in the hall and clap their castanets. After that there was a range of activities in each class- Year 1 made mosaic geckos, Year 2 made Spanish hats, Years 3 painted in the style of Cubism, Year 4 studied the country and Year 5+6 did orienteering, geography, music and learnt about Picasso.
Of course everybody learnt a bit of Spanish ready for their next trip to the beautiful country. Check each class out below-
