We aim to work closely with families and the local community. We see this a mutually beneficial relationship enabling us to enrich the curriculum on offer.
Parents and carers have the opportunity to attend many courses to support their child’s learning and development, such as Family Literacy, Family Numeracy and Triple P. Many workshops and year group activities are offered throughout the year to engage parents and carers in their child’s learning and to make them feel part of the school community. Parents are welcome to come into school as volunteers. School offers parents’ evenings during the autumn and spring terms and an end of year report if sent out each July. Staff are available at the start and end of each day to discuss any immediate concerns. We produce a series of leaflets (see links below) to help parents and carers understand the expectations for their child within each year group. These are shared during the autumn term parents’ meetings.
- Parent Leaflet – Year 1 Expectations
- Parent Leaflet – Year 2 Expectations
- Parent Leaflet – Year 3 Expectations
- Parent Leaflet – Year 4 Expectations

We are one of only a few schools across the country to be awarded a Sports and Arts Centre, the Thompson Centre. It provides our pupils and the local community with opportunities to participate in out of school activities and events. If you are interested in hiring our facility for a club/ activity or you are interested in what we already have to offer, please contact the school office on 01744 678144.
There is lots of useful information for parents and carers on the Parent Info website. This is a collaboration between Parent Zone and CEOP aimed at suppoting parents with relevent information and keeping children safe.
